TikTok Shakes Up Messaging Rules
Is it a bombshell for new sellers?

The new rules, live effective immediately, limit the number of messages accounts generating less than $1,500 per week in revenue can send. They're claiming it's an anti-spam move to clear the clutter from creator inboxes. But for many of us hustlers, it's a brutal blow.
Those of us doing less than $1,500 weekly are about to get silenced hard on the outreach front. No more automated messaging sequences, no more bot campaigns. Anyone relying on DMs to generate sales under that $1,500 line just got doxxed.
What does this mean for you?
If you do more than $1,500 in sales a week, nothing changes. You can still send unlimited messages.
If you do less than $1,500, it may not be worth using a bot anymore until you can get up to $1,500 by either posting organic content or paid ads.
These changes made by TikTok are actually good for the overall TikTok creator community according to them. It should give much greater open and response rates for brands doing over $1,500 per week.
So yeah, TikTok is turning the air supply off for the little guys while giving their big whale elite seamless breathing room. We're getting put in a corner while the high-rollers get free rein of the skies.
On one hand, I get it - TikTok wants to curate a smoother experience for their cash cows. Less clutter and all that. But it still stings to see our outreach abilities get surgically reduced because we couldn't clear that $1,500 bar. It feels like they're pushing us to ramp up paid spends or stagnate.
I'll leave it up to you whether you view this as TikTok finally taking a stand against spam, or just hoisting up their biggest revenue makers. Whichever side you fall on, the impact is clear: sell big or go home.
